A Reflection on the Love of Mary
O gentle Mother, Mary, your heart, pure and full of grace, beat in harmony with Heaven itself.
With your quiet yes to God, love entered the world wrapped in flesh and light.
You carried Him, not only in your womb, but forever in your soul.
With every gaze upon your Son, you held both the face of God and the face of your child.
Your love, deeper than oceans, watched over Him in laughter and in sorrow, nurturing Him in silence, following Him through immense joy and extreme pain.
When the world rejected Him, you remained.
When the Cross stood tall, your heart broke with His, yet still, your love did not turn away.
And still, you love — a mother to all, not only to the Christ you bore, but to each of us, your children by grace.
Your arms, once cradling the infant Light, now reach to cradle a broken world.
Teach us to love as you love: with tenderness and strength, with mercy and fierce fidelity, with a heart that says yes, even in sorrow.
Mother of Love, pray for us.
