Job opening: Adult Church Choir Director

Did God give you a gift? A gift of creating, directing, producing beautiful, inspiring music for a congregation? Immaculate Conception Church is a Roman Catholic Parish who already has a group of about 25 adults that are very willing and spiritually driven to produce beautiful music under direction. This group is receptive to either traditional or contemporary music. There is an extensive music library that you would be able to utilize and a great group of percussion instruments at your disposal.

• Plan and coordinate the Adult Choir program to facilitate the full and active participation of the congregation in the liturgical life of the Catholic Church
• Commitment of 2–4 hours a week, every other week, which includes evening rehearsals and 9:00am Sunday Mass. The choir season runs from September through April.
• The Church choir has primary responsibility for 2 feast days during the church year; Christmas Eve and Easter Vigil.
• Holds bi-weekly rehearsals for and directs and supports adult musical groups, and develops, recruits, and directs singers and musicians and their musical talents to glorify God.
• Develops a strong volunteer base of amateur and professional musicians (to potentially include singers, piano, guitar, strings, horns, etc.)
• Establishes and maintains contact with resources both within as well as outside the parish musical and liturgical community to facilitate the growth of new ideas
