CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Designed for preschoolers through 2nd graders, Children’s Liturgy of the Word invites our youngest parishioners to experience the Sunday readings in an engaging, age-appropriate format. During Mass, children are dismissed to a dedicated space where they explore one of the readings and the Gospel through song, prayer, and interactive discussion tailored to their level following the pattern of normal congregational liturgy. This ministry fosters a true sense of belonging by allowing children to ask questions and reflect on Jesus’ love at their own pace. Parents are always welcome to accompany their children to see firsthand how we celebrate God’s word together. To participate, simply attend Mass; children will be invited to the front for dismissal and will return to sit with their families in time for the Preparation of the Gifts.

  • Immaculate Conception: during 9:00 am Sunday Mass
  • St. Patrick: during 11:00 am Sunday Mass

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD (CGS)

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori-based approach to religious formation that fosters a deep, personal relationship between the child and God. In a specially prepared environment called the Atrium, children use sacred Scripture and hands-on liturgical materials to contemplate God’s love at their own pace.

  • Level I (Ages 3–5): Focuses on the heart of the Good Shepherd, who knows and calls each child by name.
  • Level II (Ages 6–7): Explores the image of the True Vine, helping children wonder about their relationship with God, their family, and the wider world.

K-5 FORMATION

At its heart, Catholic formation is a beautiful partnership between your family and our parish community. We are here to support the faith foundation you are already building at home, providing the tools, stories, and activities that help our children grow into joyful disciples of Christ.

Our Curriculum

Our program uses engaging, age-appropriate lessons, games, and crafts to help students deepen their love for Jesus and His Church.

  • Sadlier We Believe: We use the Sadlier We Believe curriculum, and our second graders prepare to receive the beautiful sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time.
  • Theology of the Body: All grades (K–5) explore the teachings of St. Pope John Paul II, helping them understand their profound dignity as persons created in the image of God.

Where We Meet

While our mission is the same, our schedules vary slightly by location to best serve each community:

Immaculate Conception

  • Format: Most Wednesdays consist of individual grade-level formation.
  • Family Connection: On several evenings we host a Family Formation Session where parents and children learn side-by-side.

St. Patrick

  • Format: Our time is split between classroom learning and celebrating Mass together.
  • Family Connection: On the second Sunday of each month, we host a Family Formation Large Group Session where parents and children learn side-by-side. All other Sundays are dedicated to individual grade levels.

ORDER OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR CHILDREN

Every faith journey is unique, and we are here to meet your child exactly where they are. The Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC) is a personalized, one-on-one process designed for children age seven or older who:

  • Have not yet been baptized.
  • Are in 3rd grade or older and have not yet received First Reconciliation or First Eucharist in the Roman Catholic Church

Whether your child is just starting out or catching up on milestones, we provide a warm, tailored path to help them prepare for these beautiful sacraments.
